Past Road Trip Photos

This was a special one for me, driving back from college.  Super special thanks to Dad and Uncle Dennis, I couldn't have done it without you- because if I got Jay and AJ to help me this time we would never be heard from again.

Rule #1 - Never forget where you came from.  On U.S. 160 East near Pagosa Springs, Colorado.  You win a cookie if you know what happens next.

Yep, made it over Wolf Creek Pass.  I didn't doubt my car for a second.  Decided to let her cool down before moving on.  Just glad I wasn't that guy.    ...This time

Last ride out of Saigon?  I'd take.  Last ride out of Lexington, Nebraska?  No thanks, I brought my own. :)

This is at the Heartland Museum of Military Vehicles, this monument can be seen from either side of I-80.

Better wear your best AT mudding treads if you want to drive out to it, though.

Getting gas later that night at Iowa 80- the only reason you *might* remember the name Walcott, Iowa.  Though I had a friend at college whose last name was Alcott, so it isn't that hard for me.
Been there twice since, and hopefully someday I'll see it in the daytime.

Finally, one of my favorite places in the world.  The only thing that would make it perfect is a Hard Rock Cafe in Sandusky, Ohio.

Me driving through Linda Lake on US 180 in Hudspeth County, Texas.  This was on the trip helping my aunt move from Phoenix to Boston.  I thought this would be a good pic to start with, me doing what I love to do.
The day before, my Dad took a pic of some butes in New Mexico. I think it was more about our little red companion on dashboard.
Later on 180 we stopped for gas in this one horse town in Texas, just before a stretch of the road that passes NO establishments for literally 200 miles.  Yea, driving that at night was a real picnic.

  1. I hope you never have to drive across Texas again. I did it once and I think it took two years and it was a little hot as well. Uncle Og

  3. Matti, Ditto on what dad said. It's amazing on what you can see looking at the world thru a windsheild from that height. You have the will power to do what's needed to make it to your first delivery. That day will be here soon and maybe it will be a load of cookies??? Uncle Dennis
